About this role:
Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Scarborough, Ontario is currently recruiting for a Seasonal Groundsperson.
Resthaven has over 42 developed acres and performs more than 480 interments annually. The property includes an onsite sales office and crematorium
The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner.
This position is based on a 40-hour work week and may change as required for the needs of the business including working overtime as required.
Job Type: Seasonal, Full-Time

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is required.
- Mechanically inclined having either formal mechanical training or experience would be an asset.
- A team player, with a positive attitude and the ability to multitask and set priorities.
- Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors would be assets.
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and leaf removal to keep outdoor areas tidy and attractive.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and mulching to promote healthy plant growth and landscape aesthetics.
- Identify and report any hazards, damages, or maintenance needs to supervisors to ensure safety and timely repairs.
- Support seasonal projects such as snow removal, debris cleanup, and preparation of grounds for special events or changes in weather.
