Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a MEAL Manager to join the Europe and Middle East (EME) Area Office. This role serves as the regional focal point for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, supporting the development, adaptation and implementation of HFHI’s MEAL framework across the region. The MEAL Manager will work closely with National Organizations, Branch Offices, Area Office teams and global colleagues to strengthen MEAL systems, improve program quality, and ensure learning and accountability across all stages of the project life cycle.
This position is to be based in Bratislava, Slovakia and requires around 20% of travel.
The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. We offer a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 3570 EUR / month (based on previous experience + benefits).
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
• Lead the adaptation and implementation of MEAL frameworks, tools and systems across the EME region.
• Provide technical support to program and project teams on MEAL design, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Support evaluations, research, needs assessments, baselines and after‑action reviews.
• Strengthen accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaints systems.
• Build MEAL capacity within National Organizations through training, guidance and system development.
• Ensure high‑quality data management and contribute to organizational reporting.
• Collaborate with the Global MEAL Team and represent the region in global MEAL networks and communities of practice.
• Promote learning by documenting best practices and supporting knowledge‑sharing across the region.
WHAT DO WE REQUIRE?
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, program evaluation or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in MEAL within development or humanitarian organizations.
• Strong knowledge of MEAL methodologies, evaluation standards, and accountability to communities.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, NVIVO, ATLAS.ti).
• Experience with survey platforms (e.g., Kobo, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms).
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multicultural teams.
