Maintenance Assistant

Compensation: $21.00 / hour

A Maintenance Assistant at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Maintenance team supporting efforts to improve operational efficiency and ensuring safety and compliance. This position involves providing preventative maintenance and is ideal for someone who is safety oriented, flexible, proactive, and open to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair:
- Assess maintenance and repair problems with follow-up.
- Perform minor plumbing and electrical work and repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
- Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
- Bring production equipment to a good operating standard and improve work order system and develop a return to service, i.e. production certification.
- Paint any necessary areas, as needed.
- Remedy any unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
- Safety must be first priority and repair aesthetic defects i.e. seals, hinges, hangers, etc. when production maintenance and breakdowns allow.

Communication and Operational Support:
- Be on call, as needed.
- Learn set-up, operation, adjustments, and operating parameters of production equipment.
- Develop open communication with machine operators, department supervisors and managers.
- Work on new installation projects.
- Perform a daily walk-through as assigned to spot possible problems.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
What you bring to Pacific Seafood
Education and Experience

Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum two years relevant experience.

Preferred
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Valid driver’s License.
- Forklift certification.

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
