Work Location: Cortez, CO
Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations.
What you will be doing:
Osprey’s in-house Graphic Design position is part of the Creative Team and works in conjunction with the creative, marketing and sales teams to create compelling marketing and communication assets in keeping with the Osprey brand guidelines. Core responsibilities include management and execution of assigned design projects, creative collaboration with creative and marketing teams, management of creative assets and resources ensuring proper file naming and hygiene as well as the design of sales and marketing materials to support both wholesale and direct e-commerce business needs as well as engaging social media assets. The nature of this role may vary from lead designer on a project to production assistance for others.
Graphic Design:
Responsible for execution of creative strategies for digital, print, social and physical mediums – ensuring all are executed within existing brand and campaign guidelines
Manage various creative projects from start to finish, delivering engaging assets on deadline and within budget
Collaborate with Creative and Marketing Teams to provide creative design solutions, ensuring brand consistency, across all assets and platforms including email and social media, internal presentation templates, packaging and on-product materials, website, trade show booth, owner’s manuals and other print/digital assets
Responsible for creating and managing information design marketing and sales materials such as workbook, product guides, owner’s manuals, etc.
Support design team with assistance on conceptual campaigns (print, web, social media, video, etc.)
Collaborate with Creative and Marketing Teams to determine creative strategies
May play collaborative role with Creative, Product Marketing and Product Teams to develop art direction for studio and lifestyle photoshoots
Digital Design:
Understands and applies file format and naming set-up for digital web and social media production
Stays up to date on UI/UX best practices for website and social creative tactics
Optimize product images for website
Works with Web Developer to A/B test designs, layouts, images on site, in digital ads and email
Collaborate with social media team to design engaging content that supports social media goals and strategies
Print Production Management:
Understands and applies file format and set-up for digital and print production
Oversees file delivery to vendors/printers
Press checks and quality control of print/web/tradeshow production
Collaborate with Marketing Team on print ad calendar – ensuring on-time delivery of print ad materials
Creative Asset/Resource Management:
Collaborates with the Project Manager to manage workload prioritization and delivery
Set-up file organization structure for creative assets: graphic design production files, photography/video files, product images etc.
Collaborates with the Marketing and IT Teams to provide up-to-date digital asset management tools
Collaborates with the Creative/Web teams and/or contractors to supply creative guidance for web development and design
Works with web team / contractors to supply on-going creative assets needed for websites (i.e., product images, photography etc.)
Collaborate with in-house photographer to select photography/photographers
Coordination with translators, proofreaders, print vendors, photographers and additional creative contractors/freelancers.
In-House Photo/Video Production:
Support product and lifestyle photography efforts, including occasional post processing and color correcting
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong organizational and timeline skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Flexible, deadline-oriented, handles project-based criticism well.
Able to plan, concept and finalize projects on time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or visual communication
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a graphic design, advertising, or marketing environment
Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and email skills
Strong understanding of prepress and printing processes and terms
Maintains current knowledge of industry trends (outdoor and design)
Knowledge of photography and postproduction
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualification:
Fine art skills, web design and multimedia design experience
Outdoor recreational experience
In Colorado, the standard base pay range for this role is $51,000 – $70,000.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
