Job Description
Essential Job Function
- Software License Management: Track and manage software licenses, ensuring that the organization complies with licensing agreements.
- This includes monitoring license usage, conducting audits, and maintaining an accurate inventory of software assets.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure that the organization adheres to software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
- This involves conducting regular audits, addressing non-compliance issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize software usage and reduce costs.
- This includes analyzing software usage patterns, negotiating with vendors, and recommending the most cost-effective licensing options.
- Software Asset Inventory: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all software assets within the organization.
- This involves tracking software installations, usage, and decommissioning.
- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with software vendors.
- This includes negotiating licensing agreements, managing vendor performance, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement software asset management policies and procedures to ensure effective management of software assets.
- This includes defining roles and responsibilities, establishing governance frameworks, and creating guidelines for software usage.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports and provide analysis on software asset management activities.
- This includes tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including IT, procurement, finance, and legal, to ensure effective management of software assets.
- This involves coordinating efforts, sharing information, and addressing any challenges that may arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field
Experience
- Required: 3 years experience in in software asset management, IT asset management, or a related field Preferred: Experience with software asset management tools and technologies is also beneficial.
