On call Pharmacy Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY The Pharmacy Assistant performs non-clinical pharmacy duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.  The Pharmacy Assistant works under the general supervision of the Pharmacist.    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate pharmacy point of sale system and other counter tasks.
2. Order, receive and stock pharmacy wholesaler and distributor drug orders.
3. File and retrieve pharmacy records as directed by pharmacist.
4. Answer phone calls from patients and prescribers authorizing refills when no change in prescription is involved.
5. Generate a refill label if no changes are needed in the prescription.
6. Pre-pack medications from stock bottle for later filling.
