Position Summary Join a mission-driven team supporting critical defense and marine aftermarket operations around the world. This role is ideal for transitioning military personnel, veterans with mechanical or electrical experience, or hands-on quality professionals who thrive in field environments and take pride in ensuring work is done right the first time. You will work directly alongside service technicians both in the field and in service shops, helping maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, documentation, and customer satisfaction while supporting equipment and systems that matter. Provide our FMD aftermarket teams with direct support from the quality discipline to include inspection, objective quality evidence tracking and completion and other support as directed to aid in ensuring first time quality of aftermarket services in the field and service shops. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Primarily work directly with service technicians in the field and our service shops to ensure timely and accurate completion and submission of all objective quality evidence records to our customers. Develop and maintain inspection reports, as well as draft quality reports. Ensure products/services comply with quality and safety standards, as well as with company standards. Ensure test equipment being used is calibrated and working correctly. Support the Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer in root cause investigations and the identification and implementation of corrective actions. Support the Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer in the identification of problems and lessons learned in both the field and in service shops. Assist the regional Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer in the development of process improvements. Perform internal and external quality system auditing as directed by the Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer. Support the Quality Supervisor and Quality Engineer as needed to manage the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements HS Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree preferred. Minimum of three years’ commercial or military experience as a quality technician or quality inspector in a hands-on role. Certification as CQT by American Society of Quality is desired. Travel up to 75% required (both domestically and internationally, including weekends, evenings, and holidays and in emergency situations on short notice). Strong interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to facilitate problem solving across cross functional teams. Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard. Proficiency in the use of standard Measurement and Test Equipment tooling. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to interpret and analyze technical information. Experience drafting reports and collecting and collating data. Ability to stand for long periods. Knowledge and experience working with mechanical and/or electrical systems is desirable. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites. This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data.
