Job Overview:
Summary statement of responsibilities:
The position holder is responsible for implementing integrated Protection-MHPSS program in Bambasi Woreda, IDP sites. The position holder will engage in the prevention and response activities of the program that include working with the community, non-specialized mental health and psychosocial support activities and case management Services.
Detailed Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Assist the team in the assessment of the living conditions of women children, people with mental health conditions and people with disabilities (PWDs) in the IDP community centers and participate in the development of an appropriate strategy in addressing their needs.
- Facilitate the involvement of children and women the community (leaders and parents) in women and girls safe space SHLS, and in MHPSS activities and document the progress made.
- Facilitate and support mental health awareness, psychoeducation and PSS sessions.
- Support community leaders and government sector focal points in the monitoring, verification, and documentation of MHPSS/CP/GBV cases.
- Follow-up the preparation and implementation of case action plan and conduct home to home visit including outreach programs.
- Carry out data Entry into the CP/GBVIMS database.
- Support the Protection-MHPSS officer in facilitating and coordinating appropriate MHPSS/CP/GBV case management services in collaboration with the Bambasi woreda office of women and social affairs likewise other key stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate protection-MHPSS awareness session.
- Organize and lead mental health and psychosocial support activities at women and girls’ safe space (WGSS) and SHLSs
- Work closely with the Protection-MHPSS Officer in the celebration of international events and other awareness-raising sessions.
- Adhere and fully abide by the GBV code of conduct and MHPSS key principles.
- Shall take any additional responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
- Develop ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies

Job requirement
Educational Background
- 0-year work experience for University degree in social science, Humanities or other related fields.
- At least one year of relevant work experience for diploma holders in social science (social work, Sociology) Psychology and other related fields
Minimum skills and qualifications
- Proficiency in English language is mandatory and Amharic language is required.
- Self-motivated, open, responsible, punctual, ability to work under pressure and in a team with low supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good team spirit, professional conduct, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Amharic. Knowledge of other local languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with the local context of the project implementation areas.
- Preference will be given to qualified women candidates.
- Good report writing skills. .
