Position Summary

Anderson Powersports in Reno, NV is seeking an Off-Road Technician to join our service department. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in their craft, enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, and wants to be part of a professional, high-performing shop environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on off-road powersports vehicles including ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and side-by-sides

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on engines, drivetrains, suspension systems, fuel systems, and electrical systems

  • Complete engine rebuilds, transmission repairs, and performance upgrades

  • Utilize manufacturer diagnostic tools and service manuals to accurately identify and resolve issues

  • Assist and mentor other technicians with difficult diagnostics and repairs

  • Conduct final quality inspections on completed repairs to ensure safety, reliability, and proper operation

  • Accurately document diagnostics, labor times, parts used, and service notes within the service management system

  • Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding repair needs, timelines, and parts requirements

  • Stay current with manufacturer service bulletins, new models, and evolving technologies

  • Assist with warranty diagnostics and documentation according to manufacturer guidelines

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a powersports technician or similar mechanical role

  • Expert knowledge of ATV, UTV, dirt bike, and side-by-side systems

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability

  • Experience performing engine, drivetrain, electrical, and suspension repairs

  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and wiring diagrams

  • Proficiency using diagnostic scanners and manufacturer software

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a professional shop environment
