Confined Space Attendant

Position Summary

Assessing the risks inside and around a confined space. Controlling and monitoring access to and from the space. Keeping rigorous records of activities and situations, including personnel entry and exit, air test results, etc. of the confined space.

Duties and Responsibilities

Atmospheric monitoring, hazard recognition, emergency response coordination, rescue planning, effective communication, attention to detail, the ability to monitor and evacuate entrants, if necessary, proper equipment usage, and a thorough understanding of confined space safety procedures and regulations, all while ensuring no unauthorized persons enter the space.

Skills and Abilities

• Able to work from heights
• Go into confined spaces
• Climb stairs/barrel ladders
• Tolerant of being stationary for long periods of time
  • I.e. standing/sitting/etc.
• Tolerant to exposure of the elements
  • Extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• OSHA 10 training required
• OSHA 30 training offered
• CPR AED 1^st aid training offered

Physical Demands

• The ability to wear heavy PPE and perform rescue operations in potentially physically demanding situations.
