Job Description

  • Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? BHcare is seeking dedicated Volunteer Community Service members to support survivors of domestic violence and their families through advocacy, safety planning, and compassionate care.

    Who We Are

    BHcare is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic providing comprehensive services for individuals and families facing mental health, substance use, and domestic violence challenges. Our volunteers play a vital role in ensuring survivors receive the support, resources, and encouragement they need to heal and thrive.

    What You’ll Do

    As a Volunteer, you’ll make a direct impact by:
    • Assisting with counseling support for community-based clients
    • Answering and supporting callers on our 24-hour hotline
    • Helping with client advocacy and personalized safety planning
    • Co-facilitating support groups for women and children
    • Maintaining accurate client documentation
    • Completing 20 hours of domestic violence certification training (provided by BHcare) within your first two weeks

Supportive Supervision

You’ll receive weekly one‑on‑one supervision with licensed clinicians, attend staff meetings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and gain exposure to real‑world clinical decision‑making through doctor/APRN rounds.

 Adult-Focused Clinical Experience

This internship placement works exclusively with adults, offering valuable experience supporting individuals with a wide range of behavioral health needs. Students will gain skills in adult assessment, therapeutic interventions, and treatment planning within outpatient clinical settings.

 

What You’ll Do: 

As a Clinical Intern, you’ll gain meaningful hands-on experience, which may include:

  • Conducting clinical assessments
  • Providing individual psychotherapy
  • Facilitating group psychotherapy sessions
  • Completing documentation for all services provided
  • Participating in clinical rounds and staff meetings
  • Collaborating with treatment teams to support client care

Enrolled in and pursuing degree in one of the following: social work, human services, women’s studies, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, or related field
