Position Summary: The primary purpose of this role is performing highly diversified duties to install troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment per safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and process to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems replace or repair parts, test and adjust accordingly.
  • Perform a regular preventative maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to proper supervision.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and use unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Completes other duties and projects as assigned by the department manager, including; process improvements, cost savings, and efficiencies.
  • Takes responsibility of work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Reports all food safety related problems to manager and to QA department to initiate immediate action.

  • Required education generally equivalent to high school diploma or GED; AA degree or state approved apprenticeship program completion in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is a plus;
  • 4 or more years' experience in strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC and HVAC experience or an equivalent combination of school and experience.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and or procedure manuals. Complete routine forms, daily production documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Requires specific knowledge of internet programs, spreadsheet and word processing software, and basic typing abilities.
  • Must be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment in decision making, and have good problem solving skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, humid, refrigerated, or freezer conditions consistent with working in a food processing facility. The employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold and vibration. The company provides the appropriate PPE for the role.

The noise level in the work environment is loud.
