Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking candidates to fill a civil designer position in our Corpus Christi, Texas, office. As a civil designer, you will contribute to the design of infrastructure projects from conception to construction administration. The position will support all elements of civil engineering, including design of civil sitework, roads, utilities, drainage, and various infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with a team of licensed engineers, designers, scientists, and technicians to deliver our diverse and challenging projects.

A Day in the Life of a Civil Designer

• Engineering design, including analysis, preparation of calculations, project layout, development and drafting of details
• Preparation and production of construction plans
• Compiling and modifying specifications
• Developing engineering estimates and quantities for construction
• Coordinate and communicate field construction activities with clients, contractors, and project team members.
• Collaborate with design teams on numerous projects in the local offices and offices throughout the country    

 Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Excel, Word, and ArcGIS (preferred)
• Effective written and oral communication skills are required, including communicating complex technical concepts visually and in text to peers, clients, and public stakeholders.
• Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments.
• Possess the passion for and the ability to apply innovative planning, design, and data collection and/or processing technologies. Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem-solve and learn new technical skills.

Education/Experience

• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• Possess an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam prior to hire.
• A minimum of 1year of professional work experience in a civil engineering environment is preferred.

Additional Information

• Willingness to travel and work overtime as project demands require.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

This is an exempt position. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $84,000.
