Registered Nurse Circulator/Intraoperative

Schedule: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assess and prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, and informed consent prior to the procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Monitor and document the patient’s vital signs and anesthesia status throughout the procedure.
  • Serve as the patient advocate, ensuring their safety and comfort during surgery. - Coordinate with the surgical team to anticipate and respond to the needs during the operation.
  • Manage specimens and cultures according to proper protocols, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
  • Handle surgical instruments and supplies efficiently, maintaining an inventory and restocking as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Assist in transferring the patient to the recovery room post-operation, providing a comprehensive report to the recovery team.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of the intraoperative process, including any incidents or variances.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to maintain compliance and quality standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Licenses/Certification: Registered Nurse in the State. Current BLS. 
  • Experience: Minimum two years in an operating room setting in a hospital or ASC.
