Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
- Support production of annual management financial planning and budgeting process, as well as performing forecasts roll forward and monitoring for the General Account Investments in Asia. This includes aligning with investment strategy on AUM projections and assessing AUM metric.
- Enhance finance monitoring metrics and processes to cope with increased focus with the growing Asia business and utilize results to liaise with global stakeholders on variance analysis and monitoring to support expense efficiency priorities and AUM reviews.
- Support strategic and financial analysis, prepare quarterly board packages and draft presentations to deliver meaningful information/ financial metrics for management review to support business advisory as well as external and internal reporting at local, regional, group levels.
- Support various finance activities, including fee model review, cost effectiveness analysis, expenses analysis and tracking, billing process monitoring, and data conciliation and analysis etc.
- Oversee regulatory financial reporting close process and statutory reporting for regulated General Account Investment asset management entities in HK, SG and UK. This includes ensuring timely delivery of annual financial audits and tax filings.
- Monitor regulatory filings preparation process, such as SFC FRR reporting, and cooperate with compliance specialists to ensure compliance with regulations
- Support ongoing enhancement of business infrastructure and processes including management of legal business framework and portfolio onboarding for the General Account Investments.
- Support implementation of new processes/systems, explore automation opportunities, creating operational efficiencies, reporting enhancements and improved risk & controls.
- Assist with senior management presentations and produce valuable analysis for the business.
- Work on special projects and initiatives to support GA business growth and enhancement opportunities in Asia.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- CA/CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is desired
- 5+ years of experience in asset management or financial services industry is beneficial
- Experience with SFC FRR reporting is a plus
- Knowledge of IFRS, local Asia GAAPs, US GAAP standards and capital regimes are an asset
- Adeptness in usage of computing technology including Microsoft Power point presentations, Excel (knowledge of advanced formulas, pivots, macro/ VBA knowledge) and other systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work productively with multiple parties at all different levels in the global organization
- Sound analytical and organizational skills are highly valuable
