
Lift Maintenance Apprentice
Job Description
Summary:
Entry-level mechanics will learn and develop preventative maintenance skills and perform all routine preventative maintenance procedures under the guidance of more senior mechanics. You will be responsible for documenting all required lift inspections and regularly monitoring the condition of assigned lifts to ensure safe operation for the public.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of assigned lifts.
- Interact professionally with lift operations staff and assist with lift operations training.
- Be able to follow safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Responsible for lift maintenance and operations in accordance with all safety, OSHA, and insurance applicable guidelines, and/or State and Federal laws.
- Present all lift maintenance needs and concerns to the Lift Maintenance Manager promptly with the required details, background, and possible solutions to ensure a quick resolution.
- Work closely with Mountain Maintenance on various projects.
- Will be required to work some night, holiday, and special event shifts.
Job Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- A valid US Driver’s License.
- Snowmobile, intermediate-level ski, or snowboard ability.
- Operate a 2-way radio.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and ratio percentages.
- High-level reasoning skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 4 hours.
- Able to lift and/or move 70+ lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Ability to work on high structures (up to 150 feet), outside, and under inclement weather.
- This job’s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Work Hours
- Full Time, Year Round Employee.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
