Job Description
The Service Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Responsibilities include providing technical support, calibrating equipment, maintaining detailed service records, and collaborating across departments. This position ensures operational efficiency and contributes to the continuous improvement of equipment performance in the production site of customers.Responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of equipment; responding to technical service requests; installing, calibrating, and testing machinery; maintaining detailed service records; managing spare parts inventory; collaborating with engineering and other departments to improve equipment performance; and ensuring all systems are properly configured and fully functional before handover, while also coordinating with vendors or management on complex technical issues.
Job Description:
Installation & Commissioning
- Install dosing systems at customer sites
- Perform system commissioning, start-up, and functional testing
- Verify mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation installation according to standards
- Calibrate instruments such as flow meters, pumps, and weighing systems
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Monitor and ensure dosing accuracy (e.g., deviation, repeatability)
- Minimize system downtime and improve equipment reliability
System & Control (MMS / PLC / SCADA)
- Support dosing equipment operation and integration with PLC and SCADA systems
- Monitor and analyze process data (e.g., dosage consumption, flow rate, batch reports)
- Assist in system integration with customer platforms
- Perform basic program adjustments or modifications when required
Customer Support & Service
- Provide on-site technical support and user training
- Coordinate with customers to resolve issues effectively
- Prepare and submit service reports after site visits
- Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high satisfaction
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of feed mill's processing, steam, and heat transfer.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance (HACCP&GMP for Feed mill, CCP point).
- Experience with remote support tools, data logging, or IoT-enabled dosing systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance software and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge in design and programming for PLC and HMI.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar service/maintenance role.
- A degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics.
