The Senior Associate, Cybersecurity Engineer will support the delivery and ongoing operation of cybersecurity solutions and services by assisting with implementation, configuration, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement activities under guidance.

This role contributes to scaling security in a fast‑growing organization by helping ensure security solutions and services are implemented consistently, documented, and operated effectively, rather than being reactive or fragmented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lifecycle of cybersecurity solutions and services by assisting with:
    • Requirements gathering and documentation (functional and non‑functional requirements)
    • Secure configuration and implementation tasks following approved standards and patterns
    • Integration support (connectors, onboarding logs, basic automation and scripting)
    • Validation activities and security testing execution (test cases, evidence collection)
    • Operational readiness tasks (runbooks, monitoring checks, access requests)
    • Documentation and knowledge transfer updates (procedures, diagrams, FAQs)
    • Maintenance and continuous improvement (ticket triage, minor enhancements, hygiene tasks)
  • Follow security-by-design and secure-by-default practices by implementing controls as defined by security architecture and standards
  • Work with security engineers, IT operations, product teams, GRC, and vendors to coordinate tasks, track action items, and ensure evidence is captured for audits.
  • Apply systems security engineering fundamentals (e.g., requirements traceability, test evidence, documentation discipline) with coaching and guidance.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • 2–5 years in cybersecurity operations, security tooling administration, or systems/support engineering (including internships or co‑op where applicable)

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Security+, SSCP, or cloud fundamentals certifications preferred (CISSP/CISM/CCSP a plus)

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated industries is an asse

  • Requirements documentation and basic analysis

  • Familiarity with security control frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001) and ability to map tasks to control requirements with guidance

  • Hands‑on experience with common security tools (e.g., logging/SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning) as a user or administrator

  • Basic scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar) are an asset

  • Written and spoken English fluency

  • Clear communicator with technical and non‑technical stakeholder

  • Comfortable learning in fast‑changing environments

  • Strong attention to detail for evidence, documentation, and configuration work

  • Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback
