This position will be responsible for both working on construction project sites assisting the forming team with labour work, and fulfilling First Aid and Safety requirements.

What You Will Do:
- Support CapWest Forming Ltd. Site Management & CW Safety Manager on-site throughout construction.
- Function as after-hours First Aid support when required.
- Regularly monitor health, safety, and compliance of workers.
- Monitor RTW / Gradual RTW Plans for CWF & sub-trade workers.
- Review & monitor sub-trade specific OHS Programs & monitor for effectiveness.
- Review & Maintain records of instruction on CWF SWP’s, Site-Specific Fall Protection Plan, Site-Specific Exposure Control Plan, CW Communicable Disease Plan
- Enforce CW SWP’s, Site-Specific Fall Protection Plan, Site-Specific Exposure Control Plan, CW Communicable Disease Plan policies & monitor for effectiveness.
- Development of site-specific safe work procedures as required. To be reviewed by the Safety Manager prior to enactment.
- Verify training records & Prime Contractor orientations for all new site workers.
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents, and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties (sub-trade supervisors, site management, CW Safety Manager, WSBC, etc.).
- Participate as a member of the CW JHSC Committee and attend all monthly meetings.
- Facilitate and participate in site inspections and implement corrective action as required.
- Conduct daily site inspection of CWF Ltd. and other effected areas of the jobsite.
- Conduct weekly toolbox meetings with all CWF Ltd. employees, sub-trades & management and submit to the General Contractor.
- Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports.
- Keep management updated on issues or concerns as they arise.
- Assist with labour duties and site maintenance as required (sweeping / housekeeping, handrail installation, control zone setup / monitoring, etc.).
What you bring:
- Minimum OFA 2
- Construction Safety Officer certification preferred.
- Supervising for Safety (WSBC), Leadership in Safety Excellence (BCCSA), CSTS-9, JHSC training all considered to be assets that will be provided / coordinated if not already possessed.
- Fall Protection certificate within the last 3 years is required.
- Any other industry-specific training is considered an asset (TCP, Confined Space, H2S, etc.).
- Computer literacy and familiar with programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Company specific reporting software instruction to be held once applicant has been accepted.
- Effective communication skills & the ability to assess situations and make decisions as required.
