Reporting To: Asst Housekeeper
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Attend daily briefings and communicate regularly with the Assistant Housekeeper.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules set by Housekeeping management.
- Perform additional duties as instructed by the Assistant Housekeeper/Executive Housekeeper.
- Ensure proper garbage disposal and separation according to Public Health regulations.
- Complete relevant logs and report maintenance issues.
- Follow the Housekeeping Utility Daily/Night Schedule.
- Assist with embarkation/debarkation duties as requested.
- Check and clean all assigned areas, including shampooing carpets/upholstery when necessary.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency and offer assistance to others.
- Help achieve budgets by minimizing waste and breakage and maintaining proper handling procedures.
- Familiarize with and execute the Seabourn HESS-MS appropriate to the position.
- Accurately record working hours, including overtime, and assist in decreasing overtime by informing management when not needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or similar preferred.
- 1 Year in same position or similar. Cruise ship experience preferred.
Physical Demands & Travel
- Maintain physical abilities for safety, including bending, climbing, repetitive motion, and heavy lifting.
- Maintain physical fitness to perform job tasks.
- Valid passport for a minimum of 6 months.
- Flag state issued seaman book.
- General flag state or flag state approved marine fitness medical.
- United States C1/D visa.
- English Marlin test with a minimum score of 80%.
- Pre-employment medical examination.
- Working on a cruise ship involves longer and more intense hours due to constant guest demand.
- Flexibility in working hours is required, as they may change due to unforeseen circumstances, regulated by the Maritime Labour Convention of 2006.
- Adherence to strict rules as stipulated by the Master’s standing orders is essential.
- Working in close proximity with fellow crewmembers requires mutual respect.
