Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team, providing essential support to individuals living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. This position involves working with clients to foster recovery, independence, and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use your personal experiences of mental illness and recovery to build strong, trusting relationships with clients through their own recovery processes.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources, including housing, healthcare, employment, and substance use treatment.
- Help clients develop coping strategies, life skills, and self-advocacy techniques that promote independence and enhance their recovery process.
- Work closely with other mental health professionals, case managers, and treatment teams ensure coordinated and comprehensive support for each client.
- Promote recovery principles in all aspects of your work, emphasizing hope, choice, and self-determination.
- Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the treatment system and the community.
- Peer recovery support certification required (PRS).
- Valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Will transport clients in own vehicle.
- Must have proof of current auto insurance coverage and meet driving record requirements.
