POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Building Supervisor will provide leadership for facility readiness, department supervision, and member satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides excellent service and maintains positive relations with members, guests, program participants, and co-workers in the YMCA.
- When closing the branch, the building supervisor is asked to ensure the members have exited the building, the facility is locked, and an alarm is set.
- Ensures that all safety and risk management standards are adhered to.
- Reports unusual conditions and/or foreseeable problems to management.
- Develops the ability to work without constant direct supervision.
- Maintains a positive attitude and contributes toward a quality work environment.
- Monitors facility cleanliness, addresses any cleanliness issues, Launders towels, and reviews program area cleanliness.
- Exemplifies YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Wears appropriate staff uniform.
- Supervises the building use by members and program participants. Records and responds to inappropriate actions and takes appropriate steps to reprimand or dismiss involved parties as needed.
- Provides leadership and guidance to evening/weekend staff

- Provide a cause driven tours to prospective members and can assist at the member service desk if needed
- Assist in supporting the annual fundraising campaign efforts.
- Assists in all areas of the YMCA operation as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1-3 years of supervisory experience with emphasis on YMCA experience.
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR for the Professional Rescuer; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Physical Demand: Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of the position and to safely supervise activities.
