Your role


Reporting to a Senior Manager and in close collaboration with the directing team, you will actively participate in the production of video content for the french news sector at CBC/Radio-Canada.


As a motion designer, you will be responsible for designing and animating graphics that will be included in environment-related news video content. You must make creative, innovative suggestions so that the elements produced are aligned with editorial content, follow the project’s style guide and are tailored to the format of the delivery platforms (web, social media and television) and target audience, while respecting our Journalistic Standards and Practices.


You will be in charge of developing, planning and creating the graphic design for content. You will work on a daily basis with reporters and producers, and attend brainstorming sessions with the whole team.


Essential qualities for this position include creativity, the ability the manage multiple projects simultaneously, in-depth knowledge of all platforms, strong proficiency with graphic design and animation software as well as experience producing multiplatform content.


This position requires full-time on-site presence.


We are looking for a candidate with the following:


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or interactive multimedia design.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience creating and producing animations for digital media.

Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of graphic design, animation and video editing software (Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro and/or Premiere).
  • Proficient knowledge of 3D animation software, an asset.
  • Good knowledge of motion design trends.
  • Experience producing multiplatform digital content.
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French : working language is French.
  • Knowledge of the English language, an asset.
  • Ability to work well under pressure for extended periods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of editorial and technological trends in digital content creation, an asset.
  • Interest in national and international current events, an asset.
  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. 

Shortlisted candidates will be tested as follows:

  • Presentation of a digital portfolio is mandatory.
  • Practical test aimed at assessing your animation skills and abilities in the context of producing an editorial video.
  • Interview. Questions on current events will be asked.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
