Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain antenna performance matrices (KPI frameworks) for passive and active antennas
- Implement scripts to control RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, antenna pattern measurement infrastructure, power meters, power supplies, and other devices.
- Plan and execute verification campaigns to evaluate early prototype device performance against desired specifications.
- Analyze raw antenna pattern data to generate reports, detail compliance with internal and regulatory specs, and advise designers on improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement fixtures to evaluate design compatibility with other satellite subsystems and coexistence across RF systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related
- Experience writing scripts for wireless systems or hardware infrastructure testing
- Experience developing KPI frameworks for antenna, RF, or electrical products
- Proficient in testing and troubleshooting test setups and/or RF devices
- 2+ years experience writing Python, LabView, TILE, or other automation software
- Strong understanding of antenna parameters such as directivity, gain, efficiency, and axial ratio
- Experience writing and documenting procedures for use by other engineers and technicians
- Strong software debugging skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in research or development of antennas
- Familiarity with 3D EM simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, COMSOL, or Cenos
- Experience analyzing antenna systems in the lab (s-parameters, isolation, radiation patterns, propagation effects, etc)
- Strong foundations in RF concepts such as impedance matching, s-parameters, microwave network analysis, and power handling
- Experience writing motor control software
- System-level antenna design and placement experience for desense mitigation
- Experience working closely with mechanical and vehicle engineers to integrate antenna designs with brackets and other vehicle hardware
- Experience in a start-up or agile development environment
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
