Schedule: Part time, 28 hours, 1st shift, Saturday-Monday
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Howe Street Kitchen Service Manager, the Cook (Kitchen Service Specialist) will work together in a collaborative fashion, to prepare and cook appetizing and nutritious meals for the clients. This is a low stress kitchen position with cycle menu and batch cooking that will include various tasks such as some driving of food deliveries, prep of bag lunches and general cleaning. The Cook (Kitchen Service Specialist) will also assist with vocational training of clients who are interested in pursuing a career in the food service industry.
Working within Adult Services, the Cook (Kitchen Service Specialist) within the Sierra Work Release program works with Community Justice program staff to help to rehabilitate, educate, and successfully guide clients from incarceration back into the community.
Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED equivalent
- 1-3 years related experience
- ServSafe Certified preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Regular and predictable attendance is required for this position
Orientation:
- If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees starting in January will be required to attend a mandatory two (2) day New Hire Orientation that will be held in our Roscommon office in Middletown.
