About This Opportunity
InComm is seeking a Batch Operations Intern to join our team, focusing on Batch Processing and Automation Tools. Our Internship Program offers aspiring professionals a valuable opportunity to launch their careers. Interns gain hands-on experience in a dynamic business environment, working on real projects, developing new skills, and gaining insights into the corporate world.
As a Batch Operations Intern, you will oversee the expansion of InComm Health processes, specifically focusing on the migration of existing clients and onboarding of new clients to the newly established Batch flow and the need to build, test, and maintain the Alerts for each new File Flow. This role will position you as a key point of contact and subject matter expert, responsible for shaping the platform's reliability, Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), operational maintenance, and migration roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the IH and cross functional enterprise teams to gather requirements for, and document, each File Flow type;
- Participate in key meetings such as planning, touch-bases, and deployments (all aspects of an ITIL methodology);
- Assist in the rollout of new alerting and monitoring, where none existed previously, to significantly improve operational responsiveness and reliability;
- Identify and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and improve operational performance;
- Communicate effectively in all aspects of our interactions with process partners to enhance comprehension and expedite alignment;
- Gain practical experience in product issue identification, triage, and troubleshooting. This will lead to improved understanding leading to more effective Alerting and Monitoring planning and design;
- Gain exposure to automation and integration capabilities within the GlobalSCAPE EFT platform, including use of available APIs (REST, COM) to support file workflows, alerting, and operational improvements
- Be engaged – we encourage you to ask as many questions as you deem relevant to fully understand each task at hand;
Qualifications
Internship Eligibility and Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a full-time academic program, currently a junior or rising senior enrolled at a local Atlanta University (e.g., Georgia State University, University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University), pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Expected Graduation: Students must be on track to graduate in December 2027 or May 2028.
- GPA Requirements: A minimum GPA of 3.0 or above is required to be considered for the position.
- Location Requirement: This is a remote internship based in Atlanta, Georgia. Applicants must be local to Atlanta, Georgia, and able to work in person (or hybrid, as required).
- Availability: Must be available at least 20 hours per week on weekdays year‑round; schedule is flexible to accommodate academic commitments
Preferred Skills:
- An ideal student should have some exposure to programming, even if it's just introductory classes. A curiosity about how things work is also important, as it drives learning and problem-solving. Familiarity with SQL, Splunk Query, and PowerShell is a plus.
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology (and/or Project Management Methodology) is a bonus;
- Working knowledge of SFTP based Batch processing is a bonus;
- Proficiency in the use of tools such as Excel, Word & Powerpoint (but if you have experience with SQL, Splunk Query, PowerShell, please call that out in your resume);
- Must be self-motivated, ability to prioritize effectively and not shy away to seek guidance when you are blocked on a task;
- Excellent oral and written communication;
- Ability to work with large teams; Willing and capable of learning new tools and technologies (as this position will arm you with the skills and knowledge necessary to success as a Batch Operations Analyst);
