Job Description
Working under the direct supervision of the Chief Deputy Treasurer/Land Bank Director, this position is responsible for all tax foreclosure related administrative tasks, record keeping and office decorum.
Basic mathematical, financial, and accounting skills; Knowledge of accounting and accounts payable procedures; Proficient in Matrix, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; Effective oral and written communication skills; Ability to organize and to work independently; In-depth knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and operations*; Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; Ability to accurately transcribe and type routine office correspondence.

Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust, and the like.

- Work closely with Deputy Treasurers to identify properties suitable for real estate tax foreclosure actions
- Coordinate the necessary pre-foreclosure paperwork
- Assist in drafting appropriate pleadings under the direction of attorneys from the Prosecutor’s Office; and track foreclosure cases once filed; and work closely with attorneys from the Prosecutor’s office to complete the foreclosure actions
- Answering phone inquiries related to pending foreclosure actions and tracking ongoing foreclosure costs and pending enforcement actions on filed cases
- Files and copies correspondence and litigation documents; maintains a physical foreclosure file on each case
- Assist the Delinquency Department in the maintenance of records.
- Assist the Land Bank Executive Director with the overall operation of the County Land Bank. Will include bookkeeping, record keeping, grant administration, billings and payments.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- An Associate degree in business administration preferred
- 1-2 years legal secretarial experience or an equivalent general work experience
- Valid Ohio Drivers License
