What You'll Do:
The Life Enrichment & Volunteer Coordinator is a vital member of the Life Enrichment team, planning, organizing and promoting Independent Living events and activities. This role manages the volunteer database, providing continuous support to volunteers for the organization as well as providing supervision and direction to the volunteer program. In this role, you ensure residents that live in the DRV community are truly living their best life.
The Life Enrichment & Volunteer Coordinator is a vital member of the Life Enrichment team, planning, organizing and promoting Independent Living events and activities. This role manages the volunteer database, providing continuous support to volunteers for the organization as well as providing supervision and direction to the volunteer program. In this role, you ensure residents that live in the DRV community are truly living their best life.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, market and lead events, programs, campus outings and activities for residents
- Maintain monthly calendars for Life Enrichment events and activities, sharing the information throughout DRV communication channels
- Maintain effective and timely communication with residents, staff and volunteers regarding upcoming events, activities and support needs
- Adapt events and activities based on feedback collected from residents to ensure the program is meeting their needs
- Recruit and maintain database of volunteers, understanding their ability and interests in supporting various programs, activities, events and social opportunities at DRV
- Onboard, train and supervise the Volunteer Program
What You Bring
- Two years of experience providing event and volunteer coordination as well as planning activities for senior living preferred
- Familiarity with recreational therapy principles, practices and residents' rights
- Ability to plan and organize programs while supervising volunteer work
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to recruit the right individuals for various volunteer roles
- Valid driver’s license
