This position can be located in either Roy, UT or Manhattan Beach, CA and supports the Sentinel Program.

As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom (FHR) responsibilities and 80% of your efforts focused on technical program support under the Sentinel – Command Systems Hardware Design Integration team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for a Command Systems Hardware Analysis Engineering discipline FHR Section and will report directly to an SDS Structural Department Manager. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 10 and 15 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities include recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members.
The 80% technical assignment will support a diverse analysis team including structural, electrical, and thermal analysts and report directly to the IPT Lead.

Work with program leadership to assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and program cost/schedule objectives as well as develop and maintain metrics for monitoring the team's progress.
Control and assign tasking within the group.
Participate in technical reviews and ensure quality and applicability of analysis work products
Grow, develop, and manage a diverse team of analysis engineers.
Interface with internal and external customers.
Participating in ROM development, Basis of Estimates, etc., as needed.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Basic understanding of and experience with engineering analysis principals.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation. completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys, FEMAP, MATHCAD.
At least 1 year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
Experience with one or more of the following languages: VBA, Python, MATLAB.
Strong experience leading teams and training others.
Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
Experience developing and implementing analytic methods to support test, validation, and qualification.
TeamCenter CPLM experience.
Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA.
