
Construction Field Technician | Nashua, NH
Job Description
IMEG is hiring a Construction Field Technician in Nashua, NH, to perform routine field tasks under the direction of the Construction Manager. As a technician, you will support construction projects through field inspection, testing, documentation, and plan interpretation, with work reviewed during the process and upon completion. You’ll also serve as a construction observer by taking field measurements and documentation entries as assigned.
Principal Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate to advanced field inspection, testing, and documentation
- Complete on-site testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt independently or interdependently
- Complete laboratory testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt independently or interdependently
- Attend training to achieve various certifications
- Understand operations and identify potential problems
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
- Observe safety and security procedures
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
- 1 years of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Must always maintain professional conduct
- Valid driver’s license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
- Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
