IT Generalist (Data Analysis and Management Focus)
Location: Scarborough - Hybrid (Commuting to our Head Office twice per week)
Job Status: Contract, 8 weeks (35 hours/week)
Nisa Foundation is a community-based charity that has promoted safety, security, and mental wellness for racialized women across Canada since 2014. The organization provides toll-free peer-to-peer counseling services, transitional homes for women and children fleeing abuse or homelessness, and facilitates educational workshops. Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting (Primary Focus)
- Work with structured datasets to support operational and organizational needs
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and insights that support business or operational decision-making
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Perform basic data transformations, validation, and cleanup to ensure data accuracy and consistency
Systems & Data Management
- Support data management activities within Microsoft Dynamics CRM, including data quality, structure, and reporting support
- Assist with data organization, documentation, and governance practices
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to data processes and system usage
Technical & Automation Support
- Use Microsoft PowerShell for basic automation, reporting support, or system-related tasks
- Support system administration tasks related to data and reporting environments
Operational Support
- Provide technical support related to data systems and reporting tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting and data needs and translate them into actionable outputs
Qualifications
Ideal Qualifications
- Understanding of relational data concepts (tables, keys, basic joins)
- Experience with data normalization and standardization concepts
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Working knowledge of Power BI for reporting and visualization
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- Formulas (e.g., lookups)
- Pivot tables
- Basic data transformations
- Experience using Microsoft PowerShell
Secondary Qualifications (Assets)
- Power Query (basic)
Project Focus
This role will primarily involve data analysis and data management–related tasks, including:
- Working with structured datasets
- Generating reports and dashboards
- Supporting operational insights through data
Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs Program)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act)
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation
