Brief Position Description

 

The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations, including onboarding, employee communications, recordkeeping, and reporting. This role ensures accurate and timely HR processes, assists with benefits and payroll coordination, supports employee relations, and helps maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes 
  • Manage HR communications, follow-up activities, and timely responses to employees and managers 
  • Generate and maintain HR reports, trackers, and status updates for leadership and managers 
  • Ensure HR processes are completed accurately and within established timelines 
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR data accuracy and confidentiality 
  • Assist with benefits administration, employee questions, and enrollment support 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies 
  • Assist with payroll coordination and HR reporting as needed 
  • Act as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns including supporting conflict resolution, employee relations issues, and promoting and positive workplace culture  
  • Support HR programs, employee engagement initiatives, and company events 
  • Support recruiting activities, as needed 
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner 
  • Additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 
  • 2-5 years of human resources experience preferred 
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred 
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices 
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience with recruiting, employee relations, and benefits administration preferred 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism 
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
