Harborview Medical Center's Neurosurgery has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator/Scheduler.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
Day Shift
Mondays- Fridays 0730-1700

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Neurological Surgery Clinic is located in the Ninth and Jefferson Building at Harborview Medical Center. It provides comprehensive assessment and management of neurological conditions, including acute vascular anomalies, brain tumors, aneurysms, movement disorders and diseases of the nervous system.
The clinic is staffed by attending physicians who evaluate patients for advanced elective procedures and diagnostic studies.
Attending physicians and neurosurgery residents evaluate post-surgical and post-trauma patients during a weekly clinic each Wednesday.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty
Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments
Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery. Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen
Coordinate anesthesia
Obtain all necessary medical records, diagnostic studies, pathology items, etc., that are needed for patient care
Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician
Enter appointment information in online appointment system
Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures
Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed
Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medical staff, and Admitting
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent
AND two years of experience in the program specialty
OR equivalent education/experience
