Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead aerodynamic design projects from concept through to release, including modelling, validation and documentation.
- Develop high‑quality surface models for CFD and wind tunnel testing.
- Ensure timely delivery of components for wind tunnel testing, collaborating with model shop and production teams.
- Support and participate in wind tunnel testing activities and development programmes.
- Continuously improve wind tunnel model quality, performance and testing efficiency.
- Contribute to parametric modelling strategies and design methodologies.
- Identify risks, opportunities and improvements, communicating progress to senior designers.
- Collaborate closely with aerodynamicists and cross‑functional teams to enhance development strategies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong CAD skills (preferably CATIA) and experience in surface modelling.
- A solid understanding of composite design, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of FEA, GD&T and engineering validation techniques.
- Understanding of aerodynamic development, wind tunnel testing and CFD processes.
- Familiarity with FIA technical regulations (desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high‑quality work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- A proactive, adaptable mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
