Job Description

MarshDescription:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Tech team at Marsh Risk Tech. This role will be based in Singapore - Marina View. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Role — Graduate / Associate Technical Business Analyst (Innovation)
Marsh Risk Tech’s Innovation team partners with the Marsh Risk business to identify and deliver opportunities for automation, AI enablement, and technology modernization. We’re hiring a Graduate / Associate Technical Business Analyst who sits at the intersection of a traditional BA and an early-career developer—someone who is AI-curious, loves to ask “why is it done this way?”, and is excited to build toward becoming an Agentic AI / automation developer over time.
You’ll work with business and technology stakeholders to discover problems worth solving, translate needs into clear requirements, and help prototype and deliver solutions using Marsh’s modern engineering and automation toolset.
What can you expect?
You’ll gain exposure to—and may contribute using—tools and platforms aligned to Marsh Risk Tech strategy, such as:
- Microsoft ecosystem: Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive; Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
- Cloud & engineering practices: cloud-native patterns (e.g., Azure and/or AWS depending on platform), APIs, integration patterns, DevOps concepts (CI/CD), Kubernetes, OSS2.0 GitHub, Polaris
- Agile delivery tooling: Azure DevOps
- Data & automation foundations: SQL, scripting (Python/JavaScript), DataBricks, workflow/orchestration concepts, test automation basics
- AI delivery concepts: prompt design, evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts, responsible AI and governance-by-design
(We’re looking for curiosity and learning agility over a perfect skills match.)
What will you be rewarded with?
- A culture of belonging, innovation, collaboration, internal mobility and extraordinary career opportunities through our four businesses: Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter, and Oliver Wyman, each consistently ranked the industry leader in their fields
- Competitive pay, full benefits package
- Generous paid time off for vacation, sick, company holidays and time to give back to your community; flexible work culture
- Employee Resource Groups which provide access to leaders, relevant volunteer and mentoring opportunities, and interactions with counterparts in industry groups and client organizations
We will rely on you to:
- Partner with stakeholders across Marsh Risk to understand workflows, pain points, controls, and outcomes.
- Lead process discovery (as-is) and define future-state (to-be) workflows that improve customer and colleague experience.
- Identify opportunities for:
- automation (workflow + straight-through processing)
- AI-assisted operations and decision support
- platform and integration modernization
- Create clear problem statements, value hypotheses, and success measures (time saved, error reduction, cycle-time improvement, improved control effectiveness).
Business analysis & delivery artifacts (with a technical lens)
- Produce high-quality BA artifacts, tailored to audience:
- process maps, user journeys, service blueprints
- epics, user stories, acceptance criteria
- functional/non-functional requirements (security, performance, resilience)
- data/interface requirements (basic API + integration thinking)
- Support agile delivery ways of working (backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives).
- Partner with engineers/architects to evaluate solution options and trade-offs.
Prototyping, automation & hands-on build support
- Build and/or support rapid prototypes to validate ideas quickly (low-code and code where appropriate).
- Assist with:
- workflow automation
- system integrations (APIs, events, data flows)
- test planning and execution (including UAT coordination)
- release readiness and operational handover
- Contribute to reusable patterns, templates, and playbooks to scale successful innovations.
AI enablement & agentic development pathway
- Apply generative AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, and prototyping while staying aligned with Marsh governance.
- Help design and evaluate AI-enabled workflows (e.g., assisted triage, document understanding, summarization, knowledge retrieval).
- Learn the foundations of “agentic” approaches (tool use/function calling, orchestration, guardrails, human-in-the-loop design) and help convert repeatable work into reliable automated flows.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or a related discipline—recent graduates preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, graduate roles, or substantial university projects count).
- Strong analytical skills: you can break down ambiguous problems and propose structured approaches.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messages to business vs technical audiences.
- Demonstrated curiosity—especially a habit of asking “why” and challenging assumptions constructively.
What makes you stand out:
- Coursework/projects/internships involving one or more of:
- process mapping, requirements/user stories, product thinking
- Power Platform, workflow automation
- SQL/data analysis, basic data modeling
- APIs/integrations, JSON, event-driven basics
- Python/JavaScript/TypeScript
- Cloud fundamentals (Azure/AWS), CI/CD concepts
- GenAI concepts (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG), experimentation/evaluation approaches
- Interest in risk/controls, security, privacy, and governance in enterprise environments.
What success looks like (first 6–12 months)
- You can independently run discovery for a small-to-medium process/problem and produce crisp artifacts.
- You deliver at least 1–2 prototypes/POCs that validate value quickly and inform build decisions.
- You help ship automations/improvements that produce measurable benefit and can be scaled.
- You build credibility with stakeholders by being curious, structured, and action-oriented.
