The Laboratory Services Section of Campus Management Office is looking for a responsible, self-motivated and high-calibre individual to fill the position of Assistant Manager to assist the Manager of the Maintenance Team to perform the following duties:

  • Lead the Electrical and Mechanical team to handle all assigned duties, including but not limited to work orders, minor installations, defect rectifications and emergency calls, that are related to laboratory electrical and mechanical services installations.
  • Ensure statutory and code compliance for electrical, fume cupboard, cleanroom, cold room and other laboratory services installations.
  • Supervise and monitor reliability and maintainability of laboratory services installations to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
  • Liaise with laboratory end-users, university stakeholders, consultants and contractors on daily operations, including installation requests, defect rectifications, site investigation, technical advice, problem or complain handling, etc.
  • Manage workshop and maintain parts or tool inventory in the workshops and store.
  • Manage team members' performance and deploy manpower (including external when required) to ensure service quality and operation efficiency.

Applicants should have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Building Services or related engineering disciplines with at least 10 years of relevant working experience. Candidates with relevant professional qualifications, solid managerial experience and exposure in laboratory, hospital or relevant institutional projects are preferred. Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is essential. The ideal candidate should also have good interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including continuing education subsidy, annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
