We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following opportunity in our Toronto office:
CASUALTY CLAIMS EXAMINER / COUNSEL
TORONTO
The Claims Examiner/Counsel, reporting directly to the Vice President, Claims Specialty Insurance, will be responsible for management of casualty claims.
Responsibilities include:
Coverage evaluation.
Drafting coverage letters and other documents.
Setting claim reserves.
Communicating with insureds, counsel, third party adjusters, brokers, and claimants.
Managing litigation and negotiating settlements.
Authorizing payments as required.
Acting as a resource for various business units.

Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience handling casualty claims;
CIP designation an asset but not required;
Law degree from a recognized university an asset but not required;
The ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both English and French, as asset but not required.

Salary:
The expected salary in this position is within the range of $120,000 - $160,000
This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities. Trisura provides this range in good faith in accordance with applicable legislation.
