Role

The Retail Assistant is responsible for providing an exceptional and personalized shopping experience to guests, ensuring that all products and displays reflect the hotel’s luxury standards. This role combines customer service, point-of-sale operations, and inventory management to deliver warm, efficient, and highly professional service. The Retail Assistant also supports merchandise presentation, restocking, and care, maintaining the boutique in impeccable condition and contributing to maximizing sales through a deep knowledge of the items, brands, and hotel values. Their presence and performance are key to strengthening the destination’s identity and creating memorable experiences. 

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in achieving the objectives of the department, being punctual and consistent in performing duties effectively and with excellence, contributing to the achievement of business results and KPIs. 

  • Identify improvements and report them so they can be considered and operations streamlined. 

  • Maintain an exceptional, professional, and polished appearance at all times, ensuring the uniform is in perfect condition, showing kindness, a genuine smile, and a courteous greeting both in guest-facing areas and among colleagues. 

  • Comply daily with cleanliness and quality standards to ensure excellent presentation, order, and cleanliness of the workspace. 

  • Effectively advise guests on their purchases. 

  • Conduct monthly inventories, cash register reconciliations, and reports promptly and according to company guidelines. 

  • Ensure that all items in the store are properly tagged. 

  • Verify that received merchandise is in perfect condition. 

  • Create inventory codes in the system and register incoming merchandise. 

  • Select suppliers and products, ensuring optimal product quality while maintaining profitability per item. 

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, or equivalent. 

  • 2 years of previous experience in the role. 

  • Experience managing the area in luxury hotels. 

  • Knowledge of suppliers within the region. 

  • Contacts with renowned artisans in the region and nationwide. 

  • Knowledge of marketing and retail strategy. 

  • Experience with Visual Merchandising, color contrast, and design resources for space optimization. 

  • Strong cost and inventory control skills.
