Automotive Express Lane Lead Technician Responsibilities

As an Express Lane Lead Technician, you will help oversee the productivity and performance of the Express Service team while performing maintenance and light repair services efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and support Express Lane Technicians to maximize productivity and service recommendations

• Perform routine maintenance and light repair services

• Replace:

  • Brake pads

  • Wiper blades

  • Filters

  • Fluids

• Perform NY State vehicle inspections

• Complete:

  • Differential services

  • Transmission services

  • Transfer case services

• Program key fobs and RKE systems

• Perform software updates and reset service/warning lights

• Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance or safety concerns

• Check and adjust tire pressure, including spare tires

• Communicate clearly with service advisors and management regarding vehicle needs and repair status

• Document completed work and recommendations accurately on repair orders

• Road test vehicles when necessary

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Participate in ongoing manufacturer and dealership training

Automotive Technician Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

✔ Previous dealership technician or express lane experience
✔ Manufacturer training preferred
✔ Strong automotive repair and maintenance knowledge
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment
✔ Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
✔ Customer-focused attitude and professionalism
✔ Valid driver’s license required
✔ Ability to meet physical job requirements with or without accommodation
