General Statement of Duties: Orthopedic surgeon, Board eligible/Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with fellowship training in Orthopaedic Oncology/Musculoskeletal Oncology. Essential Duties: Provides physician services appropriate to American Board of Orthopedic Surgery standards. Complies with OrthoIndy group policies and by-laws. Directs, plans and implements care of orthopedic patients, including entering orders into the patient record for appropriate care. Provides direct patient treatment, including but not limited to; orthopedic surgery, wound care and repair, joint injection and aspiration, administration of local anesthetic and digital blocks, joint and fracture reduction, and application of braces, splints, and other durable medical equipment (DME) and soft goods. Orders radiologic and laboratory tests and studies as necessary to complete history and physical examinations. Assesses patients with normal and abnormal findings obtained from history and physical examination as well as radiology and ancillary diagnostic studies. Plans and implements care of patients, including: EMR documentation, ordering additional diagnostic studies, communicates with support staff and prescribes appropriate medications. Counsels individuals and families about their health-related issues. Communicates individualized treatment plans to patients based on their needs. Attends or perform rounds on hospital inpatients. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. Attends and serves on group practice or hospital committees to support organizational business operations. Requirements : Doctoral degree (M.D. or D.O.) required. Indiana State Licensure required. Board certified/Board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Fellowship trained in Orthopaedic Oncology/Musculoskeletal Oncology. BLS certification required. 1-2 years of related experience preferred. 1-10 years of experience beyond fellowship and residency training acceptable. OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer
