
Senior Engineer - Manufacturing
Job Description
Summary
The Senior Engineer – Manufacturing is a professional-level individual contributor responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The role focuses on end-to-end process ownership, including process design, validation, documentation, and continuous improvement. The position partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to implement cost-effective solutions, integrate new technologies, and drive operational excellence while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts to meet quality, cost, delivery, safety, and sustainability objectives.
- Lead process development activities, including prototyping, testing, validation, commissioning, and implementation of process changes.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation such as manufacturing drawings, process specifications, work instructions, and performance data.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes through data analysis, observation, and collaboration with operators to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction, productivity improvement, and cost-reduction programs.
- Integrate safety, ergonomic, and environmental considerations into process design and operation.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide input to budgeting and capacity planning activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, suppliers, and quality partners to resolve technical and production issues.
- Review and approve engineering change notices/orders and ensure effective change control.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production teams and serve as a subject matter expert for assigned processes or technologies.
- Maintain accurate and compliant process and product data within enterprise systems, including MRP and BOM structures.

- Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
- Maintain and analyze data using tools like Excel, SAP, or HRIS systems.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with company and legal standards.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead or support special projects aligned with departmental objectives.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying process improvements or automation opportunities.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve inquiries and issues with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain secure handling of sensitive information.
- Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and benefits (where applicable).
- Support audits and regulatory reporting as needed.
- High-level decision-making and resource allocation.
- Oversight of compliance, risk, and organizational culture.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 15 pounds may be required.
Education & Work Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5-8 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and value-stream mapping.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems, BOM structures, and ERP tools.
- Experience with CAD systems and automation or PLC-controlled equipment.
- Strong project management, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Salary
2800-4100 €/mon. gross after assessing your competencies and work experience.
