M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and compliance are critical to delivering reliable products to our customers.
The Quality Control Technician Trainee is an entry-level role designed to develop foundational skills in quality inspection, testing, and documentation. Under close supervision, this position supports quality activities on the production floor while learning company and customer quality standards. The trainee may also assist with production operations during high-demand periods, providing hands-on exposure to both manufacturing and quality functions.
Schedule: This role works 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation. Available schedules include 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (day shift) and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (night shift), with every other weekend guaranteed off.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Assist with inspection and testing of materials and finished products under the guidance of experienced Quality Technicians
Learn to use measuring tools and quality equipment (e.g., scales, calipers, gauges, pi-tape)
Support documentation of test results and data entry into quality records
Observe and assist with in-process and visual inspections on the production floor
Maintain organized and compliant workspaces in accordance with 6S principles
Participate in basic GMP and internal audit observations to learn compliance standards
Support identification and reporting of non-conforming materials or processes
Assist with preparation of test reports and learn to summarize quality findings
Actively participate in training programs and work toward proficiency in required quality procedures
Perform production duties (e.g., assembling, packing, inspecting, or labeling) as assigned during high-demand periods
Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or Production Supervisor
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Eagerness to learn quality control and production principles
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to receive feedback and continuously improve
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
No prior quality experience required; on-the-job training provided
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and handle at least 20 pounds repeatedly and up to 45 pounds occasionally
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
