Job Description
Objective:
The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) bridges business needs and technical solutions within the Data & Analytics and Systems Integration domain. This role works closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, integration specialists, and solution architects to translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
The TBA plays a key role in data integration initiatives, analytics platforms, and enterprise system interfaces, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and fit for analytical and operational use.
Responsibilities:
Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes, data needs, and reporting requirements and act as a liaison between business teams and technical delivery teams to ensure shared understanding.
Elicit, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Analyse data requirements for analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
Support the design of data models, source-to-target mappings, and business logic definitions.
Validate data outputs and dashboards by writing and executing SQL queries.
Participate in data quality, reconciliation, and validation activities.
Support system integration initiatives involving APIs, middleware, and cloud platforms.
Gather and document interface requirements, data flows, transformations, and error-handling rules.
Collaborate on integration solutions using platforms such as Boomi and RESTful APIs.
Assist with end-to-end testing of integrations across multiple systems.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Information Technology, Data Engineering, mathematics, Masters in BI, etc.)
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodology
Strong interest in cloud computing technologies and modern platforms.
Experience working in Data & Analytics, BI, or systems integration environments.
Ability to transform business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive visualizations.
Strong business acumen and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and structured documentation skills.
Communicates effectively with internal and external team members
Excellent team spirit and excellent ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Good communication skills in French and English, written and spoken
Good knowledge of the manufacturing, distribution and/or retail industry is an asset.
Technical skills:
Strong knowledge of SQL
Good knowledge of data modelling (SQL DB, Power BI service, SSIS, SSRS, stored proc.)
Hands-on experience with Snowflake (data structures, warehouses, views, performance concepts).
Working knowledge of APIs (REST, JSON, basic authentication concepts).
Experience or strong exposure to Boomi or similar integration platforms (ETL / iPaaS).
Strong experience in Power BI solutions, including DAX, Power Query, and workspace management
Solid understanding of data integration patterns and system interfaces.
Familiarity with data warehousing and analytics concepts.
Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
Knowledge of data governance, security, or master data concepts.
