Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (“MRC”) for Hong Kong

The Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme is a framework to facilitate Authorized Institutions (“AIs”) to bilaterally obtain reference information during their recruitment process for certain positions, such that misconduct information in an individual’s previous employments can be provided to AIs to inform their employment decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research and evaluate FinTech and other emerging technologies.  Communicate findings and relevant concepts to IT and business, facilitate ideation and identify potential use cases.  Engage potential product vendors and/or internal IT resources to orchestrate proof-of-concepts / prototypes and other demonstration activities.  Conduct feasibility studies and facilitate the development of business cases.
• Scan the market for AI, Generative AI, and machine learning trends relevant to banking; translate findings into actionable opportunity maps for business and IT
• Facilitate ideation workshops with stakeholders to uncover high-value AI user cases, access feasibility, and prioritize based on business impact, risk and readiness.
• Design and lead proofs-of-concept using internal and vendor-provided tools, ensuring clear success metrics.
• Transit successful AI prototypes into scalable, production-grade solutions.
• Own the selection, deployment, and lifecycle management of the enterprise AI platform.
• Perform reviews on current IT architecture.  Take into considerations business requirements, organization structure, technology stack, industry standards, performance and other non-functional characteristics, and identify issues and optimization opportunities.
• Advise on major IT projects or initiatives through planning to implementation stages.  Provide guidance and coaching to IT Applications in the development of the application solutions.

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
• Minimum 10 years of experience in application development / solution architecture / enterprise architecture preferably in the financial industry
• Minimum 3 years of experience in solution architecture / enterprise architecture preferably in the financial industry
• Proven records in introducing new technologies to an enterprise
• Hands-on experience in preparation of system design or architectural documentations
• Prior experience in complex enterprise-wide implementation project is a definite advantage
• Qualification related to IT architecture and design is an added advantage
• Solid experience in IT architecture and design
• General knowledge of financial industry and its IT applications
• Good knowledge of machine learning concepts, techniques, and best practices, including supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, deep learning, and natural language processing.
• Good knowledge and experience in Large Language Models and their applications
• General knowledge in IT operation, IT infrastructure and security design
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
