Job Description
SUMMARY: The Equipment Service Technician role is responsible for providing repair services on pumps, blowers, portable / stationary compressors, generators, and ancillary equipment.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform scheduled maintenance, service and repair on air compressors, pumps and portable diesel utility equipment
Oversee and/or install related equipment and systems at customer locations
Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and or system failures
Educate customers on proper start-up procedures and maintenance intervals along with potential spare parts requirements
Maintain continuity between the customer and the company during and after installations to ensure proper application, and operations of systems and equipment
Follow proper safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
Provide the required tools and diagnostic equipment necessary to perform job assignments
Insure the proper use, maintenance, and safety of all company vehicles and equipment
Attend relevant training session and maintain appropriate required levels of certifications
Administrative responsibilities include the documenting of labor hours, parts usage, and equipment data on a daily basis.
Any other relevant duties that may be assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude and a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read and interpret work orders along with communicating ideas and suggestions both verbally and in writing
Ability to complete basic math skills
Basic Computer skills
General mechanical aptitude
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting (working at a desk) – up to 33%
Standing – up to 33%
Walking – up to 33%
Lifting up to 50 lbs. using proper body mechanics (lifting devices are utilized for heavier loads)
Basic computer skills required
Frequent use of both hands
Exposure to moderate, steady, and fairly loud noise levels below 85 dB
Ability to work in extreme temperatures during both winter and summer months
May be exposed to slippery work surfaces for up to 3 hours per day
