Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior / Executive Engineer (Condition Monitoring) are as follows. This list is not exhaustive, and related tasks may be assigned as required.
- Understand the general operating mechanisms and monitored failure modes of the rail assets.
- Apply electrical and electronics knowledge in instrumentation setup, testing, and commissioning.
- Perform hands-on work, including cable routing, cabling termination, instrumentation setup, and on-site supervision.
- Install, configure, and maintain IoT edge devices and sensors for data acquisition from rail assets.
- Prepare and maintain as-built electrical and instrumentation schematic drawings for project documentation.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for installation and commissioning works.
- Support integration of IoT edge data with centralized systems; opportunities to develop data pipelines or cloud interfaces can be provided based on interest and candidate progression.
- Conduct basic data validation and visualization to verify data integrity and system performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and end-users to gather feedback and improve monitoring systems.
- Participate in on-site work during engineering hours (night) as part of project implementation, testing, and commissioning.
