Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse is expected to perform the duties of the primary health care RN according to Student Health Services’ protocols and procedures, and is responsible for efficient and competent nursing care consistent with the College of Nurses of Ontario and with the Regulated Health Professions Act. to provide needed coverage as required. The incumbent will be expected to have excellent communication and organizational skills, exceptional nursing judgement, be prepared to operate independently and possess the ability to work with a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds as well as young children and families. The incumbent will be expected to work other vaccination clinics (including mobile clinics/initiatives) held on campus for influenza and rabies as well as periodically travel to Ridgetown Campus for rabies vaccination and titre clinics. As a full-time RN, the incumbent will receive orientation to the Information Nurse role and perform all duties of this assignment according to Student Health Services protocols and procedures including Health information Management processes according to PHIPPA regulations. The Information Nurse is a collaborator within the broader Student Wellness Department and campus. Familiarity with campus and community health care resources will be expected.
