Coal Operator: Maintenance (Tyre Fitter)

Job Description

We are seeking applications for an experienced safety focused Mine Technician (Tyre Fitter) to join our Maintenance team at our Capcoal Opencut Mine in Middlemount. You will need to possess appropriate trade qualifications for the role and be licensed to perform relevant work in Queensland. Prior experience in large open cut coal mining operations and in particular, experience with heavy earthmoving equipment.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate: 

  • Demonstrated experience in tyre fitting 

  • Have a strong safety focus 

  • Assist with maintenance tasks where required 

  • Driver's license 

  • Forklift license 

Equipment worked on will include heavy mobile equipment, medium and light ancillary equipment, road trains and various other wheeled equipment across site. Heavy equipment includes: 

  • Komatsu 830E-1 & 830E-5 Trucks 

  • Cat 785 & 793 Trucks 

  • Cat 18 & 24 Graders 

  • Komatsu WA900 Wheel Loaders & Wheel Dozers 

  • CAT Service Trucks 

Prior experience in large open cut coal mining operations and in particular, experience with heavy earthmoving equipment and demonstrate:

  • Earthmover tyre fitting experience on a mine site 

  • Hold current Cert 2 OTR Tyre Maintenance Competencies 

  • RIISAM210A – Remove, Fit and Adjust Wheels 

  • RIISAM211A – Remove, Repair and Refit tyres and tubes 

  • AURKTJ011 Remove, inspect, and fit earthmoving and off-the-road tyres 

  • AURKTJ012 Remove, inspect, and fit earthmoving and off-the-road wheel and rim assemblies 

 

  • Full-time, permanent position 

  • 7/7 12.5hr day night rotating roster 

  • Attractive salary + 12% superannuation + up to $1000 monthly bonus 

  • Annual incentive program 

  • DIDO, BIBO, Residential & sal-sac FIFO options available 

  • Middlemount Housing and Assistance (Sal Sac)
