Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of buildings, equipment and systems throughout the assigned facility. Must possess the ability to perform general mechanical repairs. The Maintenance Technician performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to cover all trades including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, painting, carpentry and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment. This position may be scheduled to work various work shifts and weekends to meet the needs of the hospital not necessarily within the craft lines. This position may require travel to perform necessary maintenance work the facility. 3-4 years experience in an acute healthcare setting is acceptable in lieu of HSD/GED. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Inspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Dismantles machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts.
- Refresh and repair suites after patient's discharge
- Performs routine maintenance.
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them.
- Repairs machines, equipment, or structures.
- Maintains or repairs specialized equipment or machinery.
- Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Orders parts, supplies, or equipment for facility when necessary.
- Plans and lays out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Performs general cleaning duties of buildings or properties.
- Records type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
