About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our dynamic Foreign Investment team, working closely with our leading Foreign Investment Partner, Lizzie Knight and Special Counsel, Joshua Mead.
You will be joining a supportive team that boasts a strong track record in obtaining foreign investment approvals on some of the most high profile and complex transactions in Australia. With top-tier rankings in all leading industry publications, you will engage in some of the most complex transactions across Australia and Asia, representing the region's largest public companies, major financial institutions, and global investment banks on foreign investment approvals. Have the opportunity to work on foreign investment approvals for large offshore and significant onshore acquisitions across a variety of sectors, including mining, manufacturing, agriculture, telecommunications, energy, defence, and data. As a core senior member of the team, you will mentor and supervise junior lawyers, furthering your own professional development.
We welcome applications from candidates currently based in Australia as well as those residing in international jurisdictions, including returning Australian citizens or internationally qualified lawyers open to working from our Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne centre. Private practice experience is highly preferred.
You will have
• Detailed knowledge of and deep experience in Australia’s foreign investment regime.
• Excellent analytical, communication and research skills - to deliver prompt and commercially astute advice.
• Strong commitment to client service and well-developed relationship management ability - you will play a key role in supporting and actively developing our relationships with our clients.
• Team focus - to facilitate effective teamwork by developing strong internal relationships.
